“Will it arrive by Christmas?” Make sure an AI agent can answer.

Agents now prepare checkout for shoppers. If your holiday cutoff lives only in a banner, an agent cannot read it, and may pick a store that says yes in its data.

Dec 15. A shopper asks an AI agent: “Will it arrive by Christmas?” Your banner says yes. Your data says nothing. The agent cannot confirm it, so it picks a store that can.

Agents now run the errand

Meta’s Muse can search retail sites, suggest products, and prepare a checkout for the shopper to approve, CNBC reported on Oct 3. Muse shows an “approval card” with the order details, then pays through partners such as Link by Stripe or Shop Pay.

Elon Musk said on Oct 10 that Grok Bot can find the best price for an item and place the order. RuntimeWire notes the product’s documented checkout uses an approval step and Stripe Link.

Either way, the agent does the comparing. The shopper only says yes to what the agent puts in front of them.

The gap: a cutoff in a banner

Most holiday cutoffs live in a banner image, a popup or a line in the footer. People see them. Agents read product data and policy text, and a date baked into an image is invisible to them.

What an agent needs is plain: for each shipping method, the last day to order and the day it arrives.

Carrier dates are earlier than you think

For delivery before Dec 25 in the contiguous US, USPS recommends sending by these dates. Your own order-by date has to come earlier still, to leave time to pick and pack.

More shoppers will arrive this way

Adobe expects traffic from AI chat and browser services to US retail sites to rise 130% year over year this holiday season. Adobe gives no share of total traffic, so this is about growth, not size. The direction is clear.

Before your cutoffs hit

Do these before the first cutoff, then again each time a date changes.

How Shopthru.ai helps

Shopthru.ai is an AI agents team for consumer brands. It asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI, Perplexity and Copilot what your shoppers ask, including shipping and returns, finds where AI gets you wrong, and drafts each fix into an approval inbox. It ships only on your yes, then checks again. Instagram and Amazon are next.
